Faces of Children is an ecumenical prayer ministry under the auspices of First Presbyterian Church of Midland, Texas. Their mission is to initiate ministries of prayer for children in churches, communities, and neighborhoods. In doing so, they seek to provide an opportunity for people of God to join together, learn about children and their needs throughout the world, and celebrate Christ's love (especially as it relates to children).
Invitation to Prayer ... Wednesday
Hi Friends,
If you're in Midland this week, we'll be meeting at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, May 22, for prayer. We meet in the prayer closet at First Presbyterian Church of Midland, Texas. Please join us in lifting up the needs of vulnerable children in our community and around the world!
Blessings,
Carrie

We are preparing for VBS the next few weeks, so I thought I'd ask you to join me in praying for the missions campaign that we will be launching this year.
We will be launching a Kindness Campaign this summer in an effort to raise awareness about how we need to treat kids with disabilities. Each day we'll explore a different perspective on ways life might be different and more challenging for kids with disabilities and how we as followers of Jesus can show them their true worth and value in God's eyes.
Our project will be both local and global. We will be raising money for a local organization, Midland Children's Rehab Center, to help purchase some therapy equipment for the center. Our global goal will be to purchase 80 wheelchairs for Dr. Bartha's project in Uganda through Free Wheelchair Mission.
As we make preparations for this educational and fundraising campaign, please pray for the children's hearts to be prepared and for these organizations as they seek to support people with disabilities both here in our community and around the world.
Also, most schools in our area are ending this week. That means fun summer for many children... and for many children it means food insecurity, lots of unstructured and unsupervised time, and loss of community. Please pray for those kids for whom summer doesn't hold the promise of adventure and fun.
Warmly,
Carrie
