Partners Blog: “What does risk mean to Partners?”

Steve and Oddny Gumaer started Partners Relief and Development in response to the needs of refugees and displaced people from Burma, and now in the Middle East, as well. Their mission is to demonstrate, through holistic action, God’s love to children and communities made vulnerable by war in Southeast Asia, the Middle East and other conflict zones.

We are living in risky times right now. Churches, businesses, nonprofits, schools, and government agencies around the world are assessing and weighing the risks associated with operation during the COVID-19 outbreak and deciding how to proceed.

Most everything we do at Partners comes with risk. The questions we ask ourselves often are “If not us… Who?” and “If not now… When?” ...
