Faces of Children: Prayer Requests

Faces of Children is an ecumenical prayer ministry under the auspices of First Presbyterian Church of Midland, Texas. Our mission is to initiate ministries of prayer for children in churches, communities, and neighborhoods. In doing so, we seek to provide an opportunity for people of God to join together, learn about children and their needs throughout the world, and celebrate Christ's love (especially as it relates to children).

Prayer Concerns for the week of 05/19/10

Afghanistan
Please keep the school girls of Afghanistan held close in prayer as many have been sickened by suspected gas attacks at their schools. Pray for a complete recovery for the girls and teachers who have become ill in the attacks.
Pray for those responsible for the suspected gas attacks-that they will be caught and held accountable for their actions. Pray for law enforcement and government officials - that they will uphold laws to protect women.
Pray for the safety of all girls and their female teachers in Afghanistan. The Taliban prohibited girls from receiving an education during their rule from 1996 until 2001 and in many rural areas, girls' schools are still closed. Please pray for girls and teachers in these rural areas who have been threatened or attacked with acid.
