Today in the PC-USA Mission Yearbook

The Mission Yearbook for Prayer & Study is a daily devotional with 365 inspiring mission stories that come from next door and all across the globe. It inspires thousands of Presbyterians daily as they uphold the mission of the Presbyterian Church (U.S.A.) in intercessory prayer. The stories in the 2012 Mission Yearbook were gathered around the prayer of Paul for the Colossians, that these faithful brothers and sisters would bear fruit and grow in the knowledge of God (1:10).

MINUTE FOR MISSION: CELEBRATE THE GIFTS OF WOMEN - Raised and nurtured in a Benedictine convent, the 12th-century prophet Hildegard of Bingen became a prolific writer of visions, songs, and poetry. Her unique, mystical voice still calls us - especially her sisters - to listen and to write. Lois Heger of San Antonio, Texas, is one contemporary heir to Hildegard's call to write. So is Mary Louise (Mel) Bringle of Brevard, North Carolina. Lois is a psychotherapist, grandmother, Presbyterian elder, pastor's wife, and writer of short stories, poems, and children's stories. Mel is a Christian feminist hymnwriter, Presbyterian elder, professor at Brevard College, and chair of the Presbyterian Committee on Congregational Song, which is charged with producing a new Presbyterian hymn book.
