The Mission Yearbook for Prayer and Study is a daily devotional with 365 inspiring mission stories that come from next door and all across the globe. It inspires thousands of Presbyterians daily as they uphold the mission of the Presbyterian Church (U.S.A.) in intercessory prayer. The stories in the 2012 Mission Yearbook were gathered around the prayer of Paul for the Colossians, that these faithful brothers and sisters would bear fruit and grow in the knowledge of God (1:10).

KOREA (SOUTH), Pt. 2 - Presbyterian mission in Korea started in 1884 when a medical missionary serving in China, H. N. Allen, was reassigned to Korea. Shortly thereafter, many others came to Korea and shared God's love with the people of the Land of Morning Calm. In 2010, three young Presbyterians came as Young Adult Volunteers (YAV) to Korea.
Korea now sends more Christian missionaries overseas than any country other than the United States. It is not surprising that both Americans and Koreans ask why we need Presbyterian missionaries in a prosperous society like Korea where churches are strong. Within six months of coming here, the YAVs taught us many reasons why God sent them here. One is that they are here to help reveal the image of the Creator in all of us.
