Today in the PC-USA Mission Yearbook

The Mission Yearbook for Prayer and Study is a daily devotional with 365 inspiring mission stories that come from next door and all across the globe. It inspires thousands of Presbyterians daily as they uphold the mission of the Presbyterian Church (U.S.A.) in intercessory prayer. The stories in the 2013 Mission Yearbook were gathered around the question of Jesus to his disciples, “How many loaves have you?” from Mark 6:38. The book is filled with stories of God’s abundance in the face of overwhelming needs and a scarcity of resources.

PRESBYTERY OF MUSKINGUM VALLEY, OHIO - On a Judean hillside many centuries ago, 12 men panicked. The teacher turned to them with what seemed like a futile command: “You feed them.”

In recent years, internationally renowned authors and educators have shared their expertise in the Presbytery of Muskingum Valley, including Dr. Terry Wardle, on formational prayer; neurologist Dr. Angelo Bolea, on the brain and spiritual change; author Rev. Dr. N. Graham Standish, on the Holy Spirit; and Dr. Peter Steinke, on systems theory and healthy congregations.

With this knowledge, presbytery leaders have returned to their congregations with new ideas to spread the gospel to the ends of the earth.
