In the News ... "Churches celebrate with Lenten Lunches"

ODESSA, TEXAS - The month of March is always an important time of the year, as students are on spring break, St. Patrick’s Day is on the horizon and this year, after the first week of March, Lent has started.

Lent is a 40-day period of fasting and penance meant to be symbolic of Christ’s 40-day fast in the desert and the 40 years the Israelites traveled through the desert.

To help celebrate the religious occasion, local churches, partnering with the Odessa Ministerial Alliance, have devised the Lenten Lunches to unite the Christian community in the Permian Basin.
