SPECIAL NOTE: We will meet in the Bride’s Room this week for our Faces of
Children prayer group. There is a group of youth staying in our “new” meeting
room for the week. They’ve been helping at the Genesis Center.
Sorry for the inconvenience,
Chris
Faces of Children is an ecumenical prayer ministry under the auspices of First Presbyterian Church of Midland, Texas. Our mission is to initiate ministries of prayer for children in churches, communities, and neighborhoods. In doing so, we seek to provide an opportunity for people of God to join together, learn about children and their needs throughout the world, and celebrate Christ's love (especially as it relates to children).
We All Have Our Courtyards
“We all have our courtyards,
those times and places we face
like Peter
when we must decide
to stand up and say
whether we know him or not.
Those crossroads in our lives,
when we go along with things as they are,
or we say, as Luther did,
Here I stand, I can do no other.
We all have our courtyards ...
Lent is the time to prepare
for our courtyards,
the time to listen to who he says he is.
And he did, you know,
He did tell us who he is.
He is that one who brings good news to the poor,
freedom to the oppressed,
sight to the blind ...
that Holy One who said,
Follow me.
Feed my sheep.”

A message from Chris Laufer, Coordinator, Faces of Children
Greetings, Faces of Children Intercessor,
The Midland Faces of Children prayer group will meet on Wednesday, March 12, 2014, at 11:30 a.m. in Room 217 at First Presbyterian Church-Midland, as we lift in prayer the children of our hearts and communities. The church is starting an 18-month-long renovation project and we won't have access to the Bride's Room during that time. We will have lunch ($5) and fellowship after our time of prayer. I hope you will be able to join us.
If you have prayer concerns or celebrations about children, those who care for them, those who have authority over them, or those who harm them (the really hard prayers to say sometimes), please send them to me at at claufer@facesofchildren.net, or give me a call.
Grace and peace,
Chris
