MIDLAND, TEXAS - The Rev. Patrick Payton has been somewhat surprised to find himself not only a minister but the senior pastor of one of the biggest churches in the Permian Basin.
A Tulsa, Oklahoma, native who had planned to be an attorney but switched to business, Payton was in his late 20s when he challenged a Bible study class and realized he was admonishing himself.
