Partners Blog: "Two years on, Gay Th’Yu Hser Moo is doing well"

Steve and Oddny Gumaer started Partners Relief and Development in response to the needs of refugees and displaced people from Burma. Their mission is to demonstrate, through holistic action, God’s love to children and communities made vulnerable by war in Burma.

Two years on, Gay Th’Yu Hser Moo is doing well

You may recall Gay Th’Yu HserMoo’s story from a couple of years ago. On August 6th 2012, his motherwent into labor in a remote village in Karen State, Myanmar (Burma), but as he was lying sideways, he presented hand-first. She waited the night in agony, contractions compressing a baby that couldn’t come out. Boats that travel the river at night are often shot at. The next morning she arrived at an internally displaced persons camp. The medics there are under strict instructions to transfer people via the refugee camp so that NGOs will cover the expenses of their care. But in this case, the baby would die, and possibly the mother too before making it to a hospital ...
