In the News ... "TOMS founder credits success to curiosity, powerful story"

Texas native and philanthropic entrepreneur Blake Mycoskie, founder of the highly successful TOMS brand, will be the next speaker featured in the Davidson Distinguished Lecture Series 7:30 p.m. Tuesday at Midland College.

Praised by notable persons from former President Bill Clinton to Microsoft founder Bill Gates, Mycoskie’s One for One business model has provided more than 35 million shoes to children worldwide since the company’s founding in 2006, according to the company’s website.

The company has since expanded its business model beyond its now-iconic shoes to include eyewear and safe water and birth attendant training.

We caught up with Mycoskie via email to get his thoughts on philanthropy, socially conscious products and the company’s success ...

Mr. Mycoskie’s lecture will begin TONIGHT at 7:30 p.m.at the Al G. Langford Chaparral Center. (Doors open at 6:30 p.m.) The event is FREE, and tickets are NOT required.
