In the News ... "West Texas Food Bank needs more donations to ensure summer nutrition"

ODESSA, TEXAS - Hunger is an issue for many area children and West Texas Food Bank is asking for the community's help in addressing the problem.

Between the Midland and Ector County Independent School Districts, there are more than 25,000 students receiving free or reduced meals. It’s becoming harder for those children to get the nutrition they need with school letting out this week.

The West Texas Food bank serves 19 west Texas counties and said its normal for a need in donations to rise in the summer months.

But couple summer break with the downturn of the oil industry and you've got a potential nightmare scenario for hungry area children ...
