Steve and Oddny Gumaer started Partners Relief and Development in response to the needs of refugees and displaced people from Burma. Their mission is to demonstrate, through holistic action, God’s love to children and communities made vulnerable by war in Burma.
Last November, I went on my first trip across the border. It was my first time ever in the beautiful country of Burma. And let me just say, my first impression was a good one. I spent two weeks travelling with a Karen friend and co-worker at Partners. The purpose of the visit was to go to some of the more remote locations where we have projects that we support. The support given includes providing funds for teacher training, lesson materials, schoolbooks, hygiene products, food and other necessities.
