ABILENE, TEXAS - As David Feemster talked about his volunteerism while waiting to unload Abilene Food Bank pallets from a trailer, he often talked about “we” as he looked over at nearby volunteers at the food pantry.

“I’m surrounded by Everyday Heroes,” Feemster said.

He made the observation while working with about a dozen men and women at the United Methodist Food Pantry at 2626 N. First St. a week before Christmas ...
