In the News ... "Odessa Senior Takes a Stand to Keep Prayer as Part of Graduation Ceremony"

ODESSA, TEXAS - After the Ector County Independent School District decided to take prayer off the graduation ceremony line-up, one Odessa High senior decided to take a stand.

Next Saturday, 18-year-old Alexis Leal will finally have the freedom to choose. She is preparing to graduate from Odessa High and enter a new chapter of her life.

But, for one last day, the school district makes the call.

"It’s a big tradition they’re taking away from us. Everyone is so used to having a benediction and invocation and it’s just changed a lot of things already," says Leal.
