PRESBYTERY OF SOUTH DAKOTA - Heartfelt prayers expressed week after week in worship at small Tuthill Community Presbyterian Church in rural Bennett County were an early register of concern. As the summer lengthened, growing concern could be detected in conversations on the church’s front steps as worshipers made their way out into the world. The dryness of the summer of 2012 was unrelenting. By the beginning of October, the US Drought Monitor had changed the county’s drought status from extreme to exceptional.
