SAN ANGELO, TEXAS - Plans for Holy Angels Catholic Church, 2309 A&M Ave, began in earnest on June 16, 1958 with the purchase of 9.4 acres in the new College Hills subdivision of San Angelo by Bishop Laurence F. Fitzsimmon, D.D., of the Diocese of Amarillo.

According to a Standard-Times spotlight article on the new church in October of 1963, the move came in response to a local population boom in the mid-1950s ...
