ABILENE, TEXAS - A long-planned community to help homeless people find a place of stability is hopefully on track to hold a grand opening in the fall of next year, said Chad Baker with CitySquare Housing, a Dallas-based anti-poverty nonprofit.
Located at 1350 Cypress St., the property will house 34 people in one-bedroom apartments in the former location of St. Ann Hospital, founded in 1940 by Sisters of the Divine Providence.
