LUBBOCK, TEXAS - Pastor Emeritus Sam Estes Jr. has seen a lot since he moved to Lubbock in 1962. From a fire to the 1970 tornado, and now Estes will see his 100th birthday Friday.

Estes has been in ministry since 1942 and hasn’t let his age hold him back from his passion as he still helps with the church that brought him to Lubbock, First Cumberland Presbyterian Church. While he didn’t mean to stay at the church for as long as he has, there were other plans in store ...
