Steve and Oddny Gumaer started Partners Relief and Development in response to the needs of refugees and displaced people from Burma. Their mission is to demonstrate, through holistic action, God’s love to children and communities made vulnerable by war in Burma.
"How old is Grandfather Robin?" the medic asked.
The Karen give familial names to anyone who they accept as one of their own, so to speak. Robin Wales has been travelling in Burma and Thailand for decades training on malaria microscopy and is ‘Grandfather’ to countless medics.
"He is 84," I replied.
"Wow!" The medic replied, "I hope I’ve half the energy when I reach that age" ...
