MIDLAND, TEXAS - The pounding of hammers. The whirring of an electric saw. Several people likely in the same T-shirt bustling about.
This was a scene that happened often this summer as volunteers worked to build homes with Midland Habitat for Humanity. As of this year, this is a scene that’s been happening for 25 years. The housing organization celebrates a quarter century of providing homes for low-income applicants and changing lives. Over the course of its tenure in Midland, Habitat has provided 139 homes for more than 600 Midlanders. But the nonprofit has provides far more than just a roof overhead ...
