MIDLAND, TEXAS - Mass services were full across town Wednesday, according to clergies, as many came out to partake in Ash Wednesday and get the symbolic sign of the cross marked on their foreheads to start Lent.
"This season we lift our heads from whatever we're preoccupied with and focus where it needs to be, on the Lord and wherever he needs us to be," the Rev. Edward DeLeon of Our Lady of Guadalupe Parish told the congregation at the noon service.
