Today in the PC-USA Mission Yearbook

The Mission Yearbook for Prayer and Study is a daily devotional with 365 inspiring mission stories that come from next door and all across the globe. It inspires thousands of Presbyterians daily as they uphold the mission of the Presbyterian Church (U.S.A.) in intercessory prayer. AFRICA - If ever you are worried about the future of the church, take a trip to Africa. The common experience in the West of congregations facing declining numbers and having difficulty attracting youth is seldom the case here. Most of the churches that PC(USA) partners with in Africa are simply bursting at the seams and filled with young people passionately engaged in ministry. In the 20th century, the number of Christians in Africa jumped from an estimated 8 or 9 million in 1900 (8–9 percent of the population) to some 335 million by 2000 (45 percent), marking a shift in Christianity’s center of gravit.
