ABILENE, TEXAS - Four years ago LaQuiera Gantt saw a need among high school girls she was helping to counsel, especially girls of color.
“I noticed a lot of girls of color wanted to talk about self esteem,” she said. “Particularly about their natural hair and not liking it.”
That led to the start of a natural hair club, with Gantt being among the first to stop using chemicals on her own hair ...
