MIDLAND, TEXAS - For a patriotic sermon with an old Western feel, look no further than preacher and John Wayne impersonator Gene Howard.
Howard, who travels the country impersonating the legendary actor John Wayne at Baptist church services, veterans’ hospitals and various other Christian and secular events, will speak at 10:50 a.m. Sunday at Bellview Baptist Church.
“Almost everybody loves John Wayne, and they want to keep him alive,” he said. “Taking the talent God’s given you and using it — that’s what I’m doing.
