From @mmm_water ... 2019 Well Season: Daily Devotional

September 14 - October 28 is Marion Medical Mission Well Season for 2019. The season will include daily devotionals - one for each day the U.S. volunteers are overseas, sharing the love of Jesus by providing safe, clean, sustainable sources of drinking water to the extreme poor in sub-Saharan Africa. Marion Medical Mission is one of our mission partners at Grace Presbyterian Church of Midland, Texas, and we STRONGLY encourage you to read these devotions to learn more about - and pray for! - their mission.

LOVE (AGAPE)
Chrispin Mhango
MMM Program Coordinator, Zambia

“And the Son said to him, ‘Father, I have sinned against heaven and before you. I am no longer worthy to be called your son.’ But the father said to his servants, Bring quickly the best robe, and put it on him, and put a ring on his hand, and shoes on his feet.”
Luke 15:21-22

Love is the most powerful, positive emotion a person can experience, and we were all created with basic human need. Yet it is probably the emotion people find the most difficult to truly experience. Some people seemingly lack the capacity to love. It can also be difficult to show affection or concern for individuals from whom we ourselves receive little care. However, God intended that you and I understand love, because it not only influences our own life deeply but also touches those around us.

Agape refers to sacrificial love, the greatest demonstration of which was Jesus Christ paying our deserved sin penalty with His own precious, sinless life.

In Luke 15:11–32, we learn principles about how to express divine love to others who desperately need it, and how its awesome power can impact the people around us. Marion Medical Mission has shown agape love to people in Africa by give out there resources towards safe drinking water program. This is just as the father to the Prodigal Son did by welcoming him without any condition given to the Son.

Let the love lead no matter how it pains.

Application Question: How do you show God’s divine love to others?

Prayer: Lord help us to show your love today as we are going out to meet with our brothers and sister in the field. Amen
