Today in the PC-USA Mission Yearbook

The Mission Yearbook for Prayer and Study is a daily devotional with 365 inspiring mission stories that come from next door and all across the globe. It inspires thousands of Presbyterians daily as they uphold the mission of the Presbyterian Church (U.S.A.) in intercessory prayer. The stories in the 2013 Mission Yearbook were gathered around the question of Jesus to his disciples, “How many loaves have you?” from Mark 6:38. The book is filled with stories of God’s abundance in the face of overwhelming needs and a scarcity of resources.

PRESBYTERY OF UTAH AND IDAHO - The Presbytery of Utah serves 3,455 members of 24 congregations spread throughout the state of Utah and a small portion of southern Idaho. Community Presbyterian Church in American Fork, Utah, is a small congregation seeking to make a positive and meaningful impact in its community. Laura Mitchell, an energetic and vibrant ruling elder, became aware of a growing need in the community for a playground that was suitable for children with autism.

Not deterred by a small church budget or the tired and neglected playground equipment occupying one corner of the church’s property, Mitchell pressed on.
