MIDLAND/ODESSA, TEXAS - After outlining their tiny handprints on the inside of a care package destined for Afghanistan, three little boys lined up before a buffet of goodies during the 10th annual Christmas For Our Troops pack-up day.
First in line was Israel Ramirez, a quiet 10-year-old who collected DVDs, books, snacks and other items for his father, an Army Reserves staff sergeant also named Israel who has been overseas for two months.
Christmas For Our Troops kicked off its 10th year of charitable giving in October. Volunteers packed the boxes Wednesday at First Presbyterian churches in Midland and Odessa.
