REPUBLIC OF SOUTH SUDAN (continued) - My name is Luka William Athial. I am from Pibor County in Jonglei State, am married to one wife, and have four children from three months to six years old. I was born into a Christian family. My parents were poor and could not send me to school, so my education was interrupted.

Due to civil war—for 20 years of my life—many people were displaced, and many others were captured by the armed forces, including my mother. Our remaining family struggled for safety until we reached Malakal, where we settled down and attended the Murle congregation there.
