• College of Pastoral Leaders gains six new cohorts

The College of Pastoral Leaders (CPL) is one of the collaborative learning programs of Education Beyond the Walls in which groups gather to learn and work together for a common purpose. This June, Austin Seminary invited six cohorts of pastors into a two-year program of spiritual and professional development. Chosen from applicants across the country, each group receives a grant of up to $10,000 to pursue clearly articulated self-directed strategies for renewal. The next deadline for applications is May 15, 2020. The new cohorts include:

Evodia comprises five young United Methodist women pastors in the Chicago area. They hope to "co-create space for spiritual practices and direction and to build relationship for this often lonely work and journey of ministry."

From Desert to Oasis is the name chosen by five ministry leaders who seek "to move from Desert to Oasis: Discovering Human Flourishing in Transition."

Ladies of the Light includes four women in ministry who "find themselves inhabiting roles that ask them to point to light, be in the light, and reflect light as they confront darkness in their lives and the lives of those they serve."

L'Alpe du Foi brings together four PC(USA) pastors who plan to "strengthen and care for their hearts, souls, minds, and bodies at the shared intersection of cycling, technology, and the theology of sport."

Speira, comprised of three Austin-area alumni who currently meet weekly for Greek exegesis and mutual support, plan to "deepen this work through spiritual practices and creating liturgy."

Wilderness Feast brings together five pastors from five states who "seek the feasts of renewal, flourishing, and reconnection" that can happen in the wilderness.
