ABILENE, TEXAS - If Gene McPeak ever gets stuck trying to come up with a sermon topic, all he has to do is look in the mirror.
By his own admission, he made a few mistakes along the way. And if he’s in that kind of mood, one or two of those mistakes might make a good sermon. But more than likely, McPeak will preach on something more uplifting than human mistakes.
It’s his good nature, sense of humo, and understanding of people that makes him a good minister, not the ability to dwell on mistakes. And those are the qualities that members notice at his new church, Elmwood West United Methodist ...
