Steve and Oddny Gumaer started Partners Relief and Development in response to the needs of refugees and displaced people from Burma, and now in the Middle East, as well. Their mission is to demonstrate, through holistic action, God’s love to children and communities made vulnerable by war in Southeast Asia, the Middle East and other conflict zones. |

Children are a natural part of life here in the Middle East. During the golden hour once the heat of the day has begun to dissipate, our little town becomes alive. People emerge from their homes and work, children are walking in small cohorts grabbing snacks from a local convenience store, boys are seen kicking around a football/soccer ball, kids are careening down dirt roads on bikes, wide eyed faces emerge curiously as strangers pass their homes, and little ones walk hand in hand leaning over and sharing a treasured secret as they go ...
