Midland Mission to Thailand: February 28

EDITOR'S NOTE: A mission team from First Presbyterian Church of Midland, Texas, has recently returned to the United States from a triip to Thailand. I will be sharing some daily notes from their trip.


It has been a busy but very productive trip thus far. We have had the opportunity to visit with many of our Thailand ministry partners over the last week and we feel that it has been beneficial for all involved. Below is a summary of where we have been and what we have done . . ..

Thursday, February 28

Andy Pasma, US Director of Partners Relief and Development, picked us up at the hotel and took us to the Partners Office to be briefed on their organization. Daniel toured us through the facility and gave us a great overview of the Burma conflict. He then took us out to the Development farm where Boonsong gave us an interesting tour of the development farm projects. Sara Lapa was also with us and it was good to catch up with her. Daniel then drove us to the airport to catch our flight to Mae Sot.

After arriving in Mae Sot, we joined Sonia for dinner and we visited about what is currently happening in Karen State and the ceasefire talks. It is always interesting to hear Sonia’s take on what is happening since her husband is so involved in the Karen government. She is a wealth of information and always entertainin
