ODESSA, TEXAS - Youth from around West Texas gathered Wednesday evening for the 21st annual Christian Youth Night at the Ector County Coliseum.

The SandHills Stock Show and Rodeo, from its origin, has always supported the youth from around West Texas, Vice President of Youth Jim Wise said, and Wednesday night was their opportunity to give back to the younger crowd by providing an evening of music, fellowship and even scholarship.

“Our primary purpose is to get the youth in here and introduce them to Jesus Christ,” Wise said. “We also gather funds from around the area and provide the youth with scholarships.”

Around 1,000 members of the community from churches in Odessa, Andrews and Midland, among other areas, were in attendance to hear the message being provided while also hoping to hear their names called for the various scholarship.
