Today in the PC-USA Mission Yearbook

The 2014 Presbyterian Mission Yearbook for Prayer and Study is devoted to the theme of young adults in the church. PRESBYTERY OF SAN FERNANDO, CALIFORNIA - Many churches, after attempting a new endeavor and being disappointed, say: “We tried that and it didn’t work. Never again!” Holy Trinity Armenian Evangelical Church of Glendale, a church plant with the Presbytery of San Fernando, attempted a vacation Bible school for the first time in 2011. The results were unimpressive. “Maybe we needed to prepare more or do more publicity,” says Pastor Hendrik Shanazarian. “We had leaders, but we didn’t get any children!”

Instead of deciding that VBS wouldn’t work, they learned from the experience.
