Partners Blog: "Sustainable Schools Project Update"

Steve and Oddny Gumaer started Partners Relief and Development in response to the needs of refugees and displaced people from Burma. Their mission is to demonstrate, through holistic action, God’s love to children and communities made vulnerable by war in Burma.

Sustainable Schools Project Update


Our Shan Sustainable Schools development projects in 2013 have now come full circle. Each community ran different projects and each community decided to use the proceeds of their successful projects differently. Some money was used to fix schools, while others used the proceeds to support teachers’ accommodation and salaries. The committees overseeing each project and the villagers in each location are very happy that all kids are going to school.

The capital from 2013 has all been reinvested again in 2014 with projects varying from place to place ...
